ALFA BRERA 2.4 JTD

Hi Darrell,

Thanks coming out to sort out my Alfa Brera 2.4JTD.

Very professional and friendly. Came and carried out remapping at my place of work which was a bonus. My Alfa has been a bit sluggish up til 2000rpm and clattery, returning an average of 39MPG with careful driving (according to on board computer).

After the remapping it became a totally different car. Gone was the clattery diesel, driving was smoother through all the gears with no flat spots, acceleration was amazing and considering I have started driving the car much harder I am still getting more miles per gallon at 42MPG.

I would recommend Darrell to anyone and will be getting my VW remapped aswell.

ALPINA D3 2.0D BI TURBO MANUAL (2011)

Hi,

Here's some feedback following up from the work that was carried out several months ago.

After doing some research and contacting several tuning companies I decided to take the plunge and get my vehicle tuned by Torquing BHP earlier this year. My engine now feels far stronger, with performance more befitting of the Alpina badge, and on several trips to Europe has easily exceeded 150mph. I was promised improved MPG and this has indeed been the case, even if driven hard it never dips below my pre-tuned MPG.

Funds permitting I'll be in touch by the end of the year to get my wife's X5 done too!

ALPINA D3 MONO TURBO

Essentially we would both agree that it has a much smoother delivery and that it is actually an easier car to drive now. Performance is definitely affected for the better and once the car is moving, 100mph comes up very quickly. It's a very relaxed cruiser and overtaking manoeuvres can be made quickly and without fuss. Overall I would say that it is now a surprisingly complete package.

AUDI A4 2.0 TDI CR (170)

Hi Darrell,

Thank you for your hospitality the other day the coffee's were very welcome.

I have to say that I did have quite high expectations of what the car was going to be like after the remap from experiences of having my previous cars tuned by other companies. But quite simply I am still in shock as to how you have managed to transform my car into an absolute snarling beast ! I think you may of guessed from our test drive that I was more than suitably impressed however following the driving I did later in the day to the sum of 100 miles + the car just got better and better as the map adapted its self ! I spent the rest of the day grinning like a Cheshire cat ! The car now goes like a rat up a drain pipe with just the slightest flex of the toe its off ! I went to bed feeling like a little kid on Christmas eve and couldn't wait to get back out in it the next morning.

Seriously I cannot express how chuffed I am and can't wait to show its new found energy off to my mates and work colleagues. I can't really comment on the fuel saving at present as I seemed to be possessed by the "Drive with your hair on fire" monster yesterday but I will update you again soon on what I'm sure will be a marked improvement also.

Thanks again you're a top bloke who indeed knows his stuff and blows any of the previous tuners I've dealt with to the curb as does my car now to anything I've come across so far.

AUDI A4 2.5 TDI V6

Firstly can I say "Thank you". Your customer relations are second to none, your knowledge, manner and the time you give to answer questions far exceeds any service I have experienced any where else. It was a pleasure dealing with you. My Audi A6 2.5 tdi V6 Quattro has been transformed. It was a bit "sluggish" at 150bhp, but since the work was done it now feels like a different car. AUDI A4 3.0 TDI AVANT

As promised my testimonial after the remapping of my A4 3.0 TDI Avant. Last Friday I drove to Inverness and back, via the M77, M80, M9 and the A9. The car was simply amazing, 410 miles, at an average of 64mph and 40.7 mpg. Overtaking was incredible, 50 to 80 plus in about 3 seconds. Just what's needed if you need to overtake large HGVs. The acceleration is quite incredible. In summary, easily the fastest accelerating car I've ever owned. I haven't had the nerve to try it flat out, nor have I found the right road, so I don't know what its top speed is. However, I feel rapid acceleration is more important than flat out MPH, and gives me the confidence to overtake in the knowledge I can do it very quickly and hence more safely. I would have no hesitation in recommending you to friends and colleagues. Thanks Darrell.

AUDI 3.0 TDi QUATTRO

Hi Darrell,

Just got back from a 1500 mile round trip to France/Germany/Switzerland..And the car......... AMAZING !!

Topped out at 165 mph before my bottle/road ran out and there was some left...

Average for WHOLE trip was over 38Mpg with some spirited driving, 95% of the time at 100Mph, some at 120, lots at 140Mph (not even redline)...

Torque amazing.. another 160 Mph through Germany .. felt ROCK solid, smooth and quiet.. I WANT MORE.....Coming back to the UK was SLOW....

Average weekly MPG is between 38-41mph, 44 if I stick cruise control and bimble at 65-70mph listening to an Audio book. It never put a foot wrong...

Recommended a lot of people to you.... 35 BMW, Toureg, Merc and TDCI Mondeo.... They are saving up their cash....

Once again thank you for a BRILLIANT job done, feel free to post the comments on your website...

Oh, the Porsche carrera 2 behind me at 160+ was NOT impressed a FULLY loaded 4 door diesel was getting away from him !!! Can I get a 4 litre Diesel engine for my car !!!!

BMW Z3 1.9i (2011)

Hi Darrell,

After being told by several companies' that a re-map is not possible on a Z3 1.9 Petrol Engine, with surprise you informed me otherwise.

With trepidation I decided to proceed with a re-map of the engine as this car is my pride and joy and the last thing I wanted to do was start playing around with the engine management system, it is not a cheap procedure but worth the end result.

You told me not to expect to see immediate affect when I first drive the car, to be honest I noticed a complete different drive after 150 miles, on the motorway now I can stay in 5th gear without changing up and down the gear box to gain sufficient power to get me out of trouble. The car now reacts to the accelerator pedal with almost immediate effect, and the drive feels a lot smoother.

In regards to fuel efficiency, I cannot comment and nor am I interested in this fact, the Z3 is a toy that is parked 8 months of the year in my garage, when I take it out I am looking for only speed and power, the fuel consumption is a down side to the way I drive .

We have now talked about a complete brake system up-grade on the car, as at present it is not sufficient, so I will be using Darrell again for this project.

BMW E39 535i

I did not expect to see such a difference after having the re map done. It has transformed my 535i sport it's a pleasure to drive now the V8 engine is a nice bit of kit but a remap makes it even better. The throttle response is better and the kick down responds instantly and when I put some super unleaded in it got even better smoother tick over.

I have also noticed a difference in the fuel economy I'm not that good at working out percentages but on an urban run I'm averaging an extra 3 mpg and on a long run 5 mpg which is great. I will have to change the way I drive as the car now gets there quicker.

Thank you also for helping me sort out the few problems I was having with the car before you did the re map its great to find someone who knows what they are doing when it comes to doing diagnostics something I think is lacking at main dealers.

I will certainly recommend your services to friends.

BMW 118D (2008)

Hi Darrell

Just a quick line to say thanks for your work on my 118d it now has power all the way through the rev range instead of petering out at 3,500rpm, Its driving like a quick 120d but with less weight and better steering feel. This has all come at no cost in fuel consumption I still get the exact same MPG as before in the 42 to 47 range and I suspect that someone less lead footed would be getting considerable better MPG, even on very quick runs it never goes below 40mpg which when you consider the speed of the car is incredible.

On a resent trip to the Nurburgring she was comfortable posting 10 minute laps and on my favour stretch of Autobarn on the way down she easily ran out of speedo (an indicated 150mph - GPS 143mph) in 6 th at under 4,000rpm with more to come, all of which really surprised the Porsche Cayenne that thought it was going to drop me as we hit the de-restriction signs.

BMW 123D

"The car is performing well; it is much smoother to drive, with improved power delivery, which is consistant across the power bands. The economy has improved as you advised; I was getting 36.7 mpg around town and this has improved to 37.6; whilst on the motorway it climbs to 38.1 even though I am driving at speed and not for economy.

BMW 335D

As promised update on the current car. The change in the actual driving of the car is very positive - more response, more torque low down and general drive characteristics with a smoother approach to power.

It is now a very rapid car indeed and has surprised many an M3 driver (incidentally, what I had before) and other rapid motors. Put it in the sport mode and use the paddles and it flies along and still does more than 35 to the gallon!!!!! In fact between, 34 - 39 is the norm and I have actually seen 41 in cruise mode. The average is around the 36 - 37 mpg which for 349 bhp and nearly 600 nm is superb. Press the pedal and the take up is instant, either using paddles or auto mode, I do not think one could change gears any quicker this makes the car very rapid and user friendly.

Brilliant! - The difference the re-map makes to my X5sd is nothing short of sensational. This has been the most noticeable enhancement to performance I have ever had over all my previous cars which have been upgraded, Escort Turbo, Cosworth,944 Turbo, TT225, 996 Turbo, Range Rover Vogue. BMW X5M

On my recent visit to Darrells workshop at Torquing Bhp,i was immediately impressed with his professional and knowledgable attitude,over the next two hours he transformed my already quick BMWX5M into a car that delivered more of its untapped power,the power delivery was much smoother allowing better use of the 80 nms of extra torque,still allowing for those exciting moments of four wheel wheelspin in launch control.

BMW 330D M SPORT TOURING

Gents, having taken so long to decide to spend money on an "invisible" upgrade to my BMW 330d M sport Touring, I have to confirm that the enhanced enjoyment is way beyond my expectation. Not only does the car drive so well with the increased flexibility through the gears , but I have recorded a 5% increase in mpg. On those occasions when I need speed the conversion is quite superb -the latest victim being a Porsche cayenne Turbo, its strange how the Cayenne could not drive away from the BMW ! Fantastic.

Darryl really knows his cars, there has been a significant improvement in responsiveness, and power of my car, and although I didn't believe him when he said I would use less fuel, the computer shows a 10% improvement in economy!

BMW 335D COUPE

Hi matey, just a few words to say that you had done a great job on re'mapping my BMW auto 335d coupe. I had found that once i had completed 300 miles, after the work was carried out, the car responded rapidly and the speed had become extremely fast and powerful. It's great to have that power when needed. She runs smoothly and I found the fuel consumption has increased for the better.

I also had the car put on a "rolling Road" machine and was satisfied to see that the break horse power hit to 336.8 and the pound per feet of talk was between 525-530. As a most appreciated customer, I will recommend you / your Company, to anyone who is interested in having their car re'mapped.

BMW R1200 MOTORBIKE

I've done about 600 miles in the week since you remapped my BMW R1200RT.

Previously the engine pulled strongly over the first 4000 rpm, becoming coarse & not worth going beyond 5000, I preferred to use the plentiful torque to make progress. Now, the low end torque is delivered more smoothly, & above 4000 rpm the engine produces a snarling rasp of power right up to the rev limiter. It's the first time I've felt the urge to wring out a BMW Boxer engine.

Ridden with a bit of restraint I reckon a full tank would give me another 20-25 miles range. The improved engine refinement means the extra miles wouldn't be a hardship. When ridden for thrills, the bike feels as though its rider has shed a couple of stones. Hey! You could market the remap as a slimming aid............Thanks Darrell for casting your magic spells over my bike.

FIAT 500 1.3 MJT

After remapping my car with Torquing BHP I've now covered over 1000 (very happy) miles. The transformation was instant improving throttle response and power, making my little baby into a real beast. FIAT DUCATO MOTORHOME

Just a short message to say how pleased I am with the remapping of my Fiat Ducato based motorhome. As you will remember we were going on a 300 mile trip after your treatment to our vehicle. You said it would get better after about 150 miles but I noticed the difference straight away. On motorways especially it felt like we had a tail wind as the vehicle responded to smaller throttle openings and I am able to engage fifth gear much sooner and retain it for longer periods. I have not carried out a fuel economy check yet but anticipate an improvement as long as I can refrain from using the extra power. The engine is also much quieter and smoother.

FORD FOCUS 2.0 TDCi

The first thing I noticed after having the remap was how much snoother the engine seemed, the car was nicer to drive from the off. Peak torque has noticably increased, but not so much so that I worry about the life of the clutch. The real gain is in the higher rev range though. On the standard map the car seemed to run out of steam soon after 3000 rpm, after the remap it pulls strong all the way up to 4000rpm. For overtaking this makes a huge difference. The other noticable difference is that the power delivery is more progressive. Overall, I think the remap was money well spent. It has transformed the car. I will definately be going back when I replace it with something else that can be remapped (most likely another diesel). I really can't fault the service Torquing BHP provided. Darrell is friendly, reliable, accomodating, and knows his stuff without being arrogant or patronising. Having had unpleasant experiences with various tuning companies in the past, the experience at Torquing BHP was like a breathe of fresh air.

FORD MONDEO 2.0 TDCi

I've now done well over 500 miles since you remapped my Ford Mondeo 2.0 TCDi and I have to say it was well spent money. Car response is much quicker, especially in the middle range RPM and engine runs smoother. Also fuel economy goes better, I achieved 57 mpg on highways and 47 on urban streets which is just great.

HONDA CIVIC DIESEL

Following the remap that you undertook on my 2007 Honda Civic diesel, I am very impressed with the results, especially the torque, throttle response and linear power delivery. This is a considerable improvement over the standard car and the improved fuel economy by 10% is also a bonus. It is quite amusing watching drivers of similar class diesel cars with bemused looks on their faces as they fail every time to keep up (to 70mph obviously)! Having now done a few hundred miles since your engineer ( who was a very nice bloke) did the job i can honestly now say how different it drives. LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 3.0 TDV6

I've now driven the car for an extra 1,500 miles and the remap has materially improved the way the engine responds to the throttle. Compared to what it was before (and it wasn't slow then) it now feels like there is a direct link between foot and engine for a truly impressive urge forward. On top of that, acceleration is now a much more well mannered affair, with turbo-lag and mid-range hesitation of the engine all but eradicated. I haven't yet had the chance to try it for top speed, but will report back once I've taken it to Germany for a spin.

LAND ROVER FREELANDER 2.2 TD4

I have now covered 2,500 miles since the re-map and everything seems to be going well.Where I can see an improvement is in pick-up, and whilst it is no rocket, it does overtake and climb steep hills easier. So on the whole I would say that I am very happy with the re-map. I guess I should time my 0-60, 30-50 and 50-70 acceleration times to see if I have any gains. Should you want to use my Freelander 2 as an example for your web site I would me more than willing to endorse your product in a positive manner.

MERCEDES S65 AMG

I am suitably impressed with the results you have somehow managed to achieve with our Mercedes S65 V12 AMG Bi-Turbo. Although the work was only carried out 48 hours ago I can see the differences already, the power delivery is much smoother and linear, increase in BHP and Torque has taken the car to 180 mph already and at only 75 percent of the rev range!! And when you take in the 8 - 10 percent increase in mpg, I estimate that we will recover the cost of the remap easily within 6 months - now that is value for money!

Needless to say, I will not hesitate for one moment to recommend your company to others in respect of your workmanship, knowledge and great value. In addition I would just like to add that we will in the future be sending other vehicles to you for the same treatment! Keep up the good work.

MERCEDES ML 270 CDI

Just a short note to tell you how pleased I am with the work you carried out on my Mercedes ML270 CDI. I bought the car brand new 5 years ago and had got very used to its characteristics. I always rated it but frequently wished it had just a little more power. Wow! What a difference you've made to it. It accelerates so much better, a smooth effortless acceleration and a substantially faster top end, where permitted! Now, pulling out to overtake is so much easier as I don't need to allow 1/2 mile to do it!! And, to top it all off I now have a 12% improvement in fuel consumption.

I was seriously thinking of changing it this year, but now I'll keep it for another couple of years as it feels like a new car. I would definitely recommend you to anybody wanting to carry out the same work on their car as I did. Once again, thank you.

NISSAN QASHQAI+2 1.5dci 110BHP (2011)

Just thought that I'd let you know how happy I am with the remap that was carried out on my Qashqai 1.5dci, having previously been given a 2.0dci as a courtesy car I'm pleased to report that I've definitely made the following correct decisions:

1) Getting the 1.5dci engine as opposed to the 2.0dci
2) Having your company carry out the tuning on the 1.5dci

Not only is the smaller engine more frugal, now at least a 100 miles more out of each tank (630+) in comparison with the 2.0dci, but it's smoother and quieter too. It's been a pleasure dealing with your company and I wish you all the best for the future.

RENAULT MASTER 2.5 DCI

I had darrell improve engine performance on my Renault Master, Mainly for greater fuel economy. I am now getting a confirmed 10% saving on fuel which is great.

SKODA FABIA vRS 1.9 TDI

My Skoda Fabia Vrs was a rapid car before but with the Torquing BHP re-map performance is now phenomenal. The car picks up quickly, lower down the rev range, and throttle response is instant. This has to be one of the best value upgrades money can buy!

And the best bit is it was all done at my home in a couple of hours.

Just an update on the Corsa.

The car still feels great and is a delight to drive now - I'm struggling to remember what it was like before! (Not that it was at all bad). I've done 350+ miles now since the work was done so I guess it's fully adapted to the remap. I've yet to refill the tank so I don't know what the mpg will be, but with that many miles showing the fuel gauge is still showing a fraction over a quarter of a tank; that suggests an improvement over recent months.

VAUXHALL VECTRA 1.9 CDTi

Thanks for a great job with the upgrade. After testing my 1.9 CDTi Vectra since the remap, I can now say it pulls much quicker with smoother acceleration. There now seems much more power in reserve if I need it, and my normal work run now returns 49.6mpg (up from 43.7). Overall, I am very happy with the results and the professional service you provided, and at such a great price too!

VW GOLF 4motion 2.8v6

I thought I'd give you some feedback now that I'd covered some 300 miles since you tuned the EMU on 08 Feb 2011. I have not been using the car often, but so far I can say quite categorically that it is smoother and more responsive. It pulls away in sixth without my having to change down. I'm quite happy with it!

VW PASSAT 1.9tdi (2005)

It is now three months since I had my 1.9TDI VW Passat remapped and I can now let you have my observations.

1) Overall fuel consumption has improved by 5% even with my use of the extra power.
2) The car is far more responsive
3) The increase in torque has made driving more relaxed with earlier gear changes
4) The biggest difference I have really enjoyed is the phenomenal acceleration it has from 30mph to 100mph. It has made overtaking so much easier and safer. It has also surprised a few drivers in cars that would normally pull away.
5) I will recommend you to any of my friends who are thinking about improving their cars performance and you can certainly remap my next car.
